EATON — In conjunction with National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, Home Is The Foundation is hosting the upcoming Community Resource Fair on Thursday, Nov. 17, at the Gym at Eagle’s Point.

This free family event will include representation of available resources in Preble County and a free meal provided by Visitation Catholic Church (in addition to their community meal at the church the same day.) Additional free resources available include showers, haircuts, hygiene packs, and winter hats, coats, and gloves.

Individuals and families are encouraged to come learn about and utilize all the resources offered by local business and organizations and get to know others within community. Those interested in volunteering are encouraged to reach out to Lindsay Watson [email protected].

The Resource Fair is part of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness week, running from Nov. 12-20. Currently there are 580,000 Americans homeless each night, 44 million Americans are at risk of suffering from hunger, and one in six children in the U.S. live in poverty. Each year, the week before Thanksgiving, groups across the United States host events to spread awareness about hunger and homelessness and engage their communities in helping those in need.

The Community Resource Fair will take place on Thursday, Nov. 17, from 4-7 p.m. at the gym at Eagle’s Point, 310 N. Barron Street, Eaton. For more information or to participate as a vendor, call 937-472-0500 and follow Home Is The Foundation’s Facebook page.
