Lanier Alumni Banquet

The Lanier Alumni Banquet will be held at the Twin Valley South High School Commons, 100 Education Drive, on Saturday, June 11, with Social Hour at 4:30 p.m. and Dinner at 6 p.m. Cost of the meal is $20 per person and anyone that attended Lanier is invited. WA/TVS Alumni Banquet

Saturday, June 4, the West Alexandria and Twin Valley South Alumni will have met for 128 years! Doors will open at 4:15 p.m. at the Twin Valley South High School. Social Gathering is from 4:30-6 p.m. The Banquet and Program begin at 6 p.m. and tickets are $16. Tickets are available at Roselius Insurance Agency, Twin Valley Bank, LCNB and the Pin-Up Shoppe in town. Car Show

King Hiram Masonic Lodge #88 is sponsoring its Annual Car Show on Saturday, June 25, from noon-4 p.m. at Peace Park. Entry fee is $10 and registration begins at noon. There will be door prizes and a 50/50 raffle. Trophies and dash plaques, sponsored by Weber’s Body & Frame, include: Best of Show, Best Paint, Best Motorcycle and Best Golf Cart. Proceeds will benefit veterans charities.

Farmer’s Market

Support the WA Celebration Committee’s weekly Farmers’ Market every Thursday from 5-8 p.m., May through September. We showcase local food and produce vendors, local entertainment and independent consultants, including but not limited to Avon and Tupperware, and many local crafters who offer incredible deals! Space still available if you wish to be a vendor. We offer live music, hot food, cold beverages, free parking and have public restrooms. Community Cookbooks are available at the Farmer’s Market and the Pin Up Shoppe at 50 W. Second Street. These hard-bound, three-ring cookbooks lie flat, while open, for your convenience and contain 600 recipes submitted by our residents! Money raised is used by the Celebration Committee to provide the community with fireworks for July 4, and new toys for Santa Villa. American Legion

The next Steak Fry is Saturday, June 18, 5-7:30 p.m. with a 50/50 raffle.

Euchre night is Ladies Night every Wednesday at 7 p.m. There is a $5 entry fee, prizes, a 50/50 raffle and it is open to the public at James E. Ryan Post 322, 1477 Ohio 503 South.

Enjoy Old-time Country and Western music every Thursday from 1-4 p.m. with the Senior Fun Bunch. This is open to the public and includes coffee and snacks with no cover charge.

Foodbank

Items needed are pancake mix, can pasta, shampoo, toothpaste, and bar soap. The Foodbank is open from 10a.m. to 12p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays and is located at St. John Church, 20 E. South Street. Contact the Foodbank at 839-1615 for additional information. Non-perishable donations can also be dropped off at Salem and St. John Lutheran Churches the first Sunday of each month.

Church of the Brethren

The next Free Community Meal will be Wednesday, June 1 from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Church of the Brethren, 22 E. Oak Street. Free Community Meals are held the first Wednesday of each month.
