WA Fire/EMS Donor Memorial Walk Way

WA Fire/EMS are selling pavers for a donor/memorial walk-way to be built when the new Fire/EMS station is built. The pavers are $100 each. We are offering a paver with or without a clipart picture. Without the clipart you get three lines of text, 20 characters per line including spaces. With the clipart you get three lines of text, 15 characters per line including spaces. We are offering 30 different choices for clipart. We have each of the military branches, medical, fire, LE fields, your favorite animal or sport. Print off the picture on our facebook, send us a message and we’ll email you a form or stop by the fire house on Monday nights. Any questions feel free to contact Lt. WA Community Picnic

The annual West Alexandria Community Picnic will be Thursday, Aug. 11 from 4-8 p.m. Come meet the new school Superintendent, your teachers, the football team, cheerleaders, and the marching band while enjoying your meal of $1.50 for hot dog or burger, chips and a drink! There are door prizes galore, plus buy chances to win two airline tickets to anywhere in the continental U.S.!

St. John Church

On Sunday, Aug. 14, we will gather with our friends from Preble County UCC for a “Summer Round-Up” carry-in picnic at Fort St. Clair from 4-7 p.m. There will be games and prizes!

We will have our Pulpit Exchange with Preble County UCC on Aug. 21.

Our mission for August is the WACOCA Local Needs Fund.

Youth meet every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

St. John Lutheran, Ingomar

Holden Prayer Around the Cross services will be held from 7-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10 and Sept. 14. These evenings of prayer are held outside under the picnic shelter so we can end our days on a positive and peaceful note.

Salem Lutheran Church

Salem will hold a Special Congregational Meeting after Worship on Sunday, Aug. 14, concerning church property.

We will be providing a meal for the Homeless Shelter in Eaton on Aug. 29.

The Women of the church are collecting bars of soap for Lutheran World Relief, and also school supplies to be given to the WA Foodbank. Individual school supply lists are available at Wal-Mart.

Salem Lutheran Church

Celebration Weekend: Our annual Ice Cream Social is Saturday, Aug. 20, from 4-7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Drive-through service is available through the west-side entrance. Featured, are eight flavors of home-made ice cream and delicious home-made chicken and noodles, turkey, BBQ, hot dogs and chili dogs, baked beans, potato salad and homemade cakes and pies served with coffee and punch.

Updated: The Annual Rally Day, for all school-aged children, will take place Sunday, Aug. 21, starting with Sunday School at 9:30 a.m., advancement at 9:45 a.m. and a Balloon Launch at 10 a.m.. All children will celebrate their new, fall classroom advancement with a celebration.

The Annual Church Picnic will begin following the Worship Service and Steeple Dedication on Sunday, Aug. 21. Join us in the Fellowship Hall for BBQ, hotdogs and chili dogs, assorted sides, desserts and games for the whole family. Salem is located at 70 E. Dayton Street next to Peace Park.
