EATON — The Thursday Night Weekly Dance usually takes place at The Grange but during the week of the Preble County Fair it will be moved to the fairgrounds on Wednesday, Aug. 5. This was a fun event last year at the fair, as it will be again this year. Senior Day is Aug. 5, and there is no admission charge that day at the fair if you are age 65 or older. There is also no charge to attend the dance that evening from 4-7 p.m. You will enjoy lively band music for your listening and dancing pleasure, plus the 50/50 drawing and door prizes. Food will be available throughout the fairgrounds. Don’t miss this opportunity to spend a wonderful evening dancing at the Preble County Fair.

The Preble County Senior Center will run a shuttle to the Preble County Fair starting at 9 a.m. on Senior Day, Wednesday, Aug. 5. Park at the Senior Center and ride our shuttle to the fair. We will pick you up later in the day and return you to your vehicle.

Wheelchair donations needed. The Preble County Senior Center keeps a stock of medical supplies like canes, walkers, etc. for seniors in need. We usually have at least one call daily with a need for a wheelchair, however at this time we are have no wheelchairs available. If you have one in good working order preferably with foot rests, that you no longer need or use, please donate it to the Senior Center. We would appreciate it. Thank you.

It’s Christmas in July at the Preble County Senior Center. Monetary donations that we receive through July 31st for this year’s Holiday Food Baskets will be matched up to $500 thanks to a local family. Monetary donations enable the Preble County Council on Aging to add items to the baskets like dairy products, meat, fresh fruit and vegetables. Please consider making an early donation so we can receive the match. We will, of course, take donations of non-perishable foods and paper products at any time before the baskets are delivered in December.
