OXFORD — Miami Valley Audubon’s (AMV) December field trip to Brookville Lake Resevoir area will take place on Saturday, Dec. 10. It is open to the public, and those interested in attending are encourage to meet at 7:30 a.m. at the west end of Oxford’s Walmart parking lot.

The trip will be led by Ornithologist Dr. David Russell and will visit birding spots around Brookeville Lake and Whitewater State Park, located between Liberty and Brookville, Indiana. There attendees will look for migrating ducks, geese, gulls, terns, sandhill cranes, and other species.

Attendees are urged to pack a lunch and bring binoculars.

AMV sponsors a field trip to a regional site of interest every month between September and June. Every field trip is open to the public and a schedule of planned trips can be found on AMV’s website.

In November, AMV visited Siebenthaler Fen in Green County, with the trip led by Nancy Bain of the Beavercreek Wetlands Association.
