The Venison for Food Banks of Preble County program is on-going. Anyone who takes a deer can donate all or part of the meat for the Foodbanks. We have sponsors who will take care of the processing fees. You may contact Brad Turner, Preble County Game Warden, or Curtis Early at 937-533-3226.

AKS Nut Sale

Alpha Kappa Sorority of West Alexandria is offering fresh nuts for baking from their Annual Nut Sale.

All bags are vacuum-sealed and yellow-tinted to retain freshness. They are one pound bags and sell for $9.50 each.

We have salted whole almonds, English walnuts, salted whole cashews, pecan pieces and pecan halves.

St. John Lutheran Church, Ingomar

Advent services each Wednesday in December begin with a carry-in meal at 6:15 p.m. Themes for the services are: Dec.14: Lessons and Carols; Dec. 21: Holden Evening Prayer. We hope you will join us!

Salem Lutheran Church

The Youth are hosting a Church Family Soup Luncheon after worship on Sunday, Dec. 18, at the church, 70 E. Dayton Street.

Join us for our Annual Christmas Eve Cantata Pageant on Saturday, Dec. 24, beginning with the bell choir concert at 7 p.m. and ending with a candlelight carol.

A Christmas Day Communion Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 25.

A pork and sauerkraut dinner will follow our Jan. 1 Worship Service to start off Salem Lutheran Church’s 200 year Anniversary. Join us for a Soup Luncheon Baptism Party after Worship on Jan. 8 as our 200 year Anniversary Celebration continues.

The Jr. Lutherans program meets Wednesdays with a meal at 6p.m. and program from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Children in Preschool through sixth grade are welcome to be a part of our Jr. Lutheran program.

New Salem Church Cookbooks are for sale in the church Library for $10 each. These would make a welcomed Christmas gift!

Salem’s Haiti Mission Trip is in need of your help. We have possibly 12 people going to be of service there. Cost to each person is $1,350 and we are trying to collect an additional $500 for beans and rice to give to families there. You, too, can be a part of this mission outreach with your donations and support. Checks should be made out to Salem Lutheran Church and by writing Haiti in the memo section of your check. Coups for Troops collects unwanted grocery coupons, up to two months expired, for troops overseas to use in the Commissaries. There is a basket located in the Church Library.

St. John Church

Our mission for December is for Crossroad.

Christmas Eve Candle Light Service with Communion starts at 7 p.m. and the youth-led Christmas worship begins at 11 p.m. Christmas Day and New Year’s Day Worship begins at 10 a.m..

We will provide a second meal to the homeless shelter on Dec. 29.

Youth meet Wednesdays at 6 p.m. at the church, located at 20 E. South Street.

Donate empty pill bottles without labels for our Mission Project.
