EATON — The Preble County YMCA will help boost the winter blood supply with a community blood drive Thursday, Feb. 16, from 3:30-7:30 p.m. at the facility located at 450 Washington Jackson Road, Eaton.

Everyone who registers to donate will receive the Community Blood Center “Rise, Shine & Give” ceramic coffee tumbler. Donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment online at www.DonorTime.com or call 1-800-388-GIVE.

Winter presents many challenges to maintaining the area blood supply, according to the CBC. A high number of donors have been unable to donate this winter because of seasonal illness. If one must miss an appointment to donate the CBC asked donors to reschedule when they can. They especially encourage eligible donors to help CBC with the need for type O positive and type O negative whole blood donations and type A/B platelet and plasma donations.

CBC is thanking donors for their support during the heart of winter with the “Rise, Shine & Give” ceramic tumbler with removable silicone grip. It’s free to anyone who registers to donate through Saturday, Feb. 25 at any CBC Donor Center and most CBC mobile blood drives.
