Student arrested in bomb threat

OXFORD — A teen student at Talawanda High School has been charged in a bomb threat which occurred on Wednesday, Feb. 22.

According to the Oxford Police Department, a 17-year-old male student was arrested after allegedly making a bomb threat at Talawanda High School.

On Wednesday, at approximately 9:48 a.m., Oxford officers responded to a bomb threat that was written on a toilet in a student restroom at Talawanda High School, 5301 University Park Blvd.

With the assistance of police K9s from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, the Miami University Police Department, the University of Cincinnati Police Department, and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, the building was searched and no devices were found, according to the OPD.

The student was charged with inducing panic, a felony of the second degree, and was transported to the Butler County Juvenile Detention Center.
