EATON — The City of Eaton now has its own center for aesthetic skin enhancements. Mark of Excellence Medical Spa aims to offer safe and effective alternatives to plastic surgery, right at the Preble County Medical Center in Eaton. Owned by Dr. Mark Vosler, the spa held its ribbon cutting and grand opening on Thursday, April 13.

The celebration allowed residents to meet and mingle with the staff, including: Dr. Vosler, Shelley Barney, PA-C, Ashley Grubb, PA-C Spa technicians, Peggy Vosler, Suzette Weadick, Susan Conley, Licensed Massage Therapist Mary Christman, Permanent make-up and nail tech Ashley Evans, Artist Maggie Reckers, and herbalist and founder of Lavender & Roses organic skin care, Janell Foust.

The event also featured M.A.D. skin care products, sample skin and body care and massage, appetizers, desserts, refreshments, wine, and a prize drawing.

Mark of Excellence Medical Spa offers non-invasive cosmetic treatments including microdermabrasion, Intense Pulse Light Exilis Therapy, and therapeutic massage.

“I am in the business of aesthetic medicine, that involves a lot of things, but basically a better feeling of self for people that need that,” Dr. Vosler said. “Massage therapy, we have three different kinds of machines that work on fine wrinkles, skin rejuvenation, hair removal — we have a permanent make-up girl and she does nails as well, I also do botox and fillers — the whole thing is to get a sense of better well-being, a better sense of self, and a better feeling about self.”

“There hasn’t been anything like this in Eaton before,” he said. “Since I have an office here, I wanted to combine the medical side of things with the spa side of things, and include the massage therapy. Looking at things from the medical standpoint, as opposed to just some purely cosmetology standpoint. There’s nothing in Preble County that does that.”

He added, he has always been interested in this sort of work. In fact, when he first got out of medical school he thought he wanted to do plastic surgery. He came home instead and started his business. He decided to open the Mark of Excellence Medical Spa three years ago.

He wants to use this medical spa to “help people.” He added, “I want to help people feel better about themselves. That’s my main goal.”
