EATON — The Eaton Country Club was the site for the first Senior Home Repair Program Golf Outing. The event will be an annual one with the proceeds assisting the HIT Foundation program.

Ten sponsored teams participated in this year’s outing, including Ameriprise Financial, ECOB, 2nd Saturday, Heeter Insurance, Henny Penny (two teams), Lawn Plus, Silfex, Timken Steel, Twin Valley Bank, and Vancrest Health Care Center.

Event sponsors included 1808 Café, Ace Hardware, Barnes Funeral Home, Bistro at Eagles Point, Clubhouse Restaurant, Dr. Hewitt DDS, Eaton Country Club, Eaton Floral, Eaton Hometown Furniture, Eaton-Brooke Gould Memorial Library, First Impression Wear (FIW), Freedom First Credit Union, Girton Schmidt Boucher &amp, Gard Funeral Home, Heeter Insurance, Kemos Sub, Lawn Plus, LCNB, Mental Health & Recovery Board, Michael Murphy Insurance, Preble Co Council on Aging, Preble Co DD, Preble County YMCA, Remagen Food Service, The Register-Herald, Roselius Insurance, Schreyer – Thomas LLP, Sherwin-Williams Paint, Simon Insurance, Steve Winn Insurance, Steinke Tractor, Timken Steel, Tri-State Home Medical, US Bank, Wings Etc, &amp, and Your Flower Shop.

Teams participated in both morning and afternoon sessions with the Ameriprise Team winning the early round and the Henny Penny Team on top in the afternoon. Other awards included: Men’s Longest Drive: Mr. Anglin; Mens Closest to Pin: Dr. Craig Hewitt; Women’s Longest Drive: Darlena Weaver.

Lunch was served to both morning and afternoon teams by the Clubhouse Restaurant. Jeremy Linder, HIT Board Member, thanked everyone for supporting the Senior Home Repair Program.

The event was hosted by the event committee including Ron Roth, Brenda Newman (also on the Senior Home Repair Committee), Amanda Kopf, and Ginger Roth (Senior Home Repair Program coordinator).

Many of the teams participating in the golf outing competed in the morning session. The team from Ameriprise won the round.

Ron Roth not only helped coordinate the event, he also participated. He and his team took first place in the morning round.

Dr. Craig Hewitt was one of several golfers to win individual awards. Hewitt was Closest to the Pin. Other award winners included: Men’s Longest Drive: Mr. Anglin and Women’s Longest Drive: Darlena Weaver.
