PC Commissioners approve Gratis CDBG bid

EATON — Planning for the Village of Gratis’ FY16 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for the Ada Doty Street Improvement Project is well on its way.

During the Preble County Commissioners’ meeting on Monday, Aug. 14, the board noted receipt of, and approved, a bid recommendation from Mote & Associates.

According to Commissioner Chris Day, the letter from Mote & Associates asked the commissioners to consider the base bid in the amount of $556,686.70 from Prograde Excavation and Demolition.

All three commissioners approved the bid.

The commissioners also approved the following financial considerations:

•Resolution 450 entitled Moral Obligation — Engineer. Day added, “Engineer, Baker Tool Sales in the amount of $139.95.”

•Resolution 451 to transfer funds to various departments. Those include: Juvenile Court travel debit $1,000, Juvenile Court credit $1,000, General Public Assistance grants debit $18,769.74, Job and Family Services transfer receipts credit $18,769.74, general miscellaneous other expenses debit $2,000, general management advertisement credit $2,000, Engineer materials debit of $34,000, and Engineer building maintenance credit of $34,000.

•Resolution 452 authorizing an expenditure in the amount of $12,367.08 for the cleaning and sludge removal from leachate storage tank two at the landfill.

Commissioners noted receipt of the following correspondence and reports:

•A report from the Preble County Prosecuting Attorney regarding the FY16.

•A permit application for plaza use for the Old Fashioned Saturday Night Car Show on Aug. 26, and for White Christmas on Nov. 24.

They also approved approved Travel Resolution 453 to allow Day and Commissioner Rodney Creech to attend the Buckeye State Sheriff Association Meeting on Nov. 14 at a cost not to exceed $400.

The Preble County Commissioners meet every Monday and Wednesday at 9 a.m. in the Preble County Courthouse.
