PREBLE COUNTY — The 2017 Preble County Pork Festival is sponsoring its annual Create-A-Pig contest. Students and adults throughout Preble County are invited to create a pig for the festival contest. Pigs will be judged and prizes will be awarded. The purpose of the project is to promote local culture and events through creativity and imagination.

The categories for the Create-A-Pig Contest include Most Unique, Prettiest, Carve-A-Pig, and Pig Photographs/Digital Computer Images.

Entries will be divided into five groups: kindergarten-second grade, third and fourth grade, fifth and sixth grade, seventh and eighth grade and high school and adult.

There is a Pig Picture category which is only open to kindergarten-second grade.

The following prizes will be awarded to each class group, except Pig Pictures: $15 for first prize, $10 for second prize, $8 for third prize and $5 for fourth prize.

Drop off all entries to the educational exhibit area in Bruner Arena organized by the National Trail MVCTC FFA Chapter on the Preble County Fairgrounds from 4-6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15. Pick up entries between 3-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17. All items not picked up by 4 p.m. will be disposed of by the committee.
