Eaton City Manager updates activities

EATON — According to Eaton City Manager Brad Collins, the MedFlight ribbon cutting and open house was a huge success.

“MedFlight had their opening ceremony last Thursday,” Collins said during his report to council on Monday, Aug. 21.

“There was a great turn out by the community. I like to see the continue growth with the medical building and services. The huge turn out by the community shows they’re interested in that.”

He added, city staff are preparing Fort St. Clair for the arrival of the tank and the celebration that is tentatively scheduled for Sept. 23.

There will be a suicide prevention walk held on Saturday, Sept. 9, to be held at Seven Mile Park at 7 p.m.

The Pork Festival is coming soon — it will be held from Saturday, Sept. 16 through Sunday, Sept. 17. Collins reported the parade will start at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.

In other news:

•Finance Director Stephanie Hurd was awarded the Ohio Auditor State Award.

•All the utility work is completed on the Nation Avenue project, but they are still working on sidewalks.
