NEW PARIS — National Trail Elementary School has a new kindergarten teacher — Lindsey Tauscher.

During the National Trail Local Schools Board of Education meeting held on Tuesday, Aug. 22, Elementary Principal Ed Eales introduced her to the board.

Tauscher was on the agenda for the board to approve, but she actually began working on Friday, Aug. 18 to prepare for the first day of school. They did the kindergarten screening on Tuesday, Aug. 22 and the first day was Friday, Aug. 25. The class has about 60 kids in it.

“Tauscher was actually with us last year,” Eales said. “She’s been here a couple days with us and we’re lucky to have her.”

She added, “I just graduated from IU East. I was actually here for my first placement. It is nice to come back home, it feels like.”

Tauscher, who lives in Arcanum, is married and has a three-year-old little son.
