Grand jury issues indictments

EATON — A Preble County grand jury handed up several indictments on the Eaton man who escaped from Eaton Police custody earlier this month and allegedly committed a series of crimes which led to a stabbing and a manhunt including both Preble and Montgomery County authorities.

William “Bill” McClellan, 49, of 104 Deland Drive, was captured in Montgomery County on Friday evening, Sept. 8, with the help of several area law enforcement agencies. McClellan was originally arrested on Thursday, Sept. 7, but was able to escape the custody of officers and flee the area, according to information released by the EPD. Eaton Police reported McClellan had assaulted a 90-year-old female family member, and stolen her vehicle from her residence in Eaton.

The stabbing occurred Friday morning, Sept. 8, on Cemetery Road, west of Eaton. Deputies on the scene determined the 63-year-old victim had been involved in an altercation at his residence, and his cell phone, and several handguns had been stolen.

McClellan was captured in Montgomery County the evening of Sept. 8.

The PCSO, Lewisburg PD, and Ohio State Highway Patrol assisted in a search for McClellan, which included an aerial search by the OSP.

During a Monday, Sept. 11, session, the grand jury indicted McClellan for felonious assault, kidnapping, aggravated robbery, robbery, grand theft of a motor vehicle, petty theft and escape.

Other indictments issued included:

Nathaniel L. Marcum, at large, possession of drugs and criminal trespass; Elizabeth Nicole Ingram, 6769 Neanover Road, Somerville, aggravated possession of drugs and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia; Cody A. Gregory, at large, aggravated possession of drugs; Courtney L’Nee Bailey, 1312 Columbia, Middletown, aggravated trafficking in drugs, aggravated possession of drugs, trafficking in heroin, possession of heroin, possessing criminal tools with vehicle forfeiture specifications.

Also: Jettie Allen Bailey, 2522 El Camino Drive, Middletown, aggravated trafficking in drugs, aggravated possession of drugs, trafficking in heroin, possession of heroin, possessing criminal tools with vehicle forfeiture specifications; Daniel James Johnson, 531 Quinn Road, West Alexandria, domestic violence; Alisha A. Adams, 201 N. Lafayette Street, Camden, aggravated possession of drugs and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia; Mary E. Brown, at large, aggravated possession of drugs, petty theft, possessing drug abuse instruments, criminal trespass.

Sticco, 3398 Salisbury Road #18, Richmond, Indiana, aggravated possession of drugs; Ryan Edward Johnson, 5382 Paint Road, New Paris, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, a drug of abuse, or a combination of them, driving under financial responsibility law suspension or cancellation, operating a motor vehicle bearing an invalid license plat or identification mark.

Forgie, at large, aggravated possession of drugs; Brian M. Grubb, 902 E. Main Street, Eaton, receiving stolen property, receiving stolen property, receiving stolen property, aggravated possession of drugs, illegal conveyance of weapons, drugs of abuse, or intoxicating liquor onto the grounds of a specified government facility, forgery with specification.

Also: Angela McClellan, 104 Deland Drive, Eaton, obstructing official business; Charles Worley, at large, retaliation, violating a protection order (two counts.)
