EATON — There is a new fund at Eaton Community Schools thanks to a generous donation from the Murphy family.

During the ECS Board of Education meeting on Monday, Sept. 11, a new capital improvement fund was authorized and aptly named R. Murphy High School Capital Improvement Fund.

The board approved the acceptance of a donation from the estate of Rosemond Murphy, in the amount of $104,000, to be used for capital improvements at Eaton High School.

The board also recognized Rosemond Murphy’s family for this donation. They noted, it is their hope the money be used in the memory of Rosemond and the family.

BOE President Lisa Noble noted, “This donation is very much appreciated.”
