Name: Rodney Forrer

Hello, my name is Rodney Forrer and I live in Gratis with my wife of 28 years, Carrie.

I am a 1979 graduate of Preble Shawnee High School and have attended and completed many seminars and courses for public service and business.

I have served 40 years in the fire, EMS and police starting as a cadet. I’ve served on council, as mayor and on the school board. I am self-employeed as a salesman thus making me available if needed in the township.

Most people who have lived in the area know me and know that I will do anything go get the job done. I think that maintaing roads, keeping our cemeteries nice and maintaining well staffed and efficent fire department.

All public officials must manage thier families around the elected positions and baring an emergency keep families first and with seven grandchildren I do stay busy but vow to work with my constituents to have a well-maintained township.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and feel free to email me at [email protected], on Facebook or phone at 513-594-4582.

Name: Kathy H. Lewis

Office Seeking: Gratis Township Trustee

My family has lived in Gratis Township since the 1960s.

I recently retired from AK Steel Corporation with 35 years of service where I was the Corporate Risk Manager for 28 years.

I obtained my education from Miami University with B.S. and M.B.A. degrees in Finance and most recently from Sinclair in Paralegal Studies. My education in Paralegal Studies has enabled me to research and interpret the laws that govern our township.

Over many years I have participated in fund raising for United Way and Junior Achievement and I strongly believe that one needs to give back to their communities. In addition, I am a volunteer for the Greater Dayton Volunteer Lawyers Project and Naturalization Clinics sponsored by Advocates for Basic Legal Equality, Inc.

Over the last two years I have become increasingly concerned about several issues that are affecting the citizens of our township. These include a commitment to the laws that govern our township, transparency of township business to the public, and financial planning to assure the township can properly serve the community in the future.

With my education and experience in Finance and Paralegal Studies I am uniquely qualified to lead our township and work to improve these identified issues.

Thank you. I would appreciate your vote on Nov. 7.

Name: James Schneider

Hello my name is James Schneider and I am asking for your vote for Gratis Township Trustee on November 7, 2017.

About me: I am 65 years old. I have been married to my wife, Debbie, for 43 years. I have four adult children; Jimmy (wife Michele), Darrell (wife Ashley), Bobby (wife Gina), Nikki and seven grandchildren. I retired from Sorg/Baywest Paper Company in Middletown, after working there for 44 years and during my time there I served as the Union Trustee (1995-1997), Union Vice President (2005-2008) and Union President (2008-2011). I made Gratis Township my home 47 years ago, I have raised my children here and now my children are raising their children here.

I believe that being retired would be a great asset to the residence of Gratis Township because I would be available to assist the two current township employees when needed. I also believe that the two current employees do a great job so I plan to assist them when needed but not micromanage them. Being retired, I know what it is like to live within my means so if elected I promise to be a good steward of your tax dollars.

I would appreciate your vote and welcome any questions, my cell number is 513-292-3602.
