Candidate profiles: Jackson Township Trustees

0

Name: Donald Hays

I am seeking the office of Jackson Township Trustee. I am a farmer and owner of a seed sales and treatment business in Jackson Township.

I am a 2001 graduate of Eaton Community Schools and have a Bachelors of Science from The Ohio State University. I am very involved with the Eaton First Church of God where I am the chairman of the Facilities Team, I’m a member of the National Trail FFA Advisory Council, and help when needed with the local 4-H. Much like in business, a Township Trustee must be fiscally responsible and focused on what is best for the township as a whole.

When elected, I will focus on keeping our roads safe by clearing snow/ice, maintaining proper signage, clearing tree limbs and alleviating flood waters. A big part of a Township Trustee’s responsibility is the safety of the residences and travelers on our roadways. I will also continue efforts to help clean up our neighborhoods, working with county officials to clean up abandon and neglected properties and dump sites around Jackson Township.

In my opinion it is paramount that we keep our community clean and our roadways clear of obstructions, not only for the residents of Jackson Township but for anyone just passing through. I will work hard to make sure Jackson Township continues to be a welcoming community strongly rooted in agriculture. I would be honored to serve as the next Jackson Township Trustee.
