Hurst, Arnett Chosen for the Nutcracker Ballet

Two TVS students, Elliana Hurst and Ellie Arnett, have been chosen to dance in The Nutcracker with the Dayton Ballet. The Nutcracker will be presented at the Schuster Center Dec. 15-23, in Dayton.

Ellie Arnett has danced five years for Roberta Lynn at New Lebanon School of Dance and is a third grader at Twin Valley South Elementary school. Ellie’s parents are Brent and Mandy Arnett, and she has an older brother, Cody Arnett. She enjoys singing at church, playing soccer, and Cloverbuds with Spic’n Span Pots’n Pans 4-H Club. Grandparents are Steve and Vickie Arnett, Buster and Janet Eby, and Gary and Kathy Chesnut.

Elliana Hurst will join the Dayton Ballet for the third year in a row dancing in the Nutcracker and will be performing in two parts this year. She has taken dance at New Lebanon School of Dance for 11 years. Elliana is also a cheer-leader in the seventh grade at TVS Middle School, plays the flute and participates in 4-H with Monroe Better Livestock. She is the daughter of Lucian and Sherry Hurst and has a brother, Carson Hurst. Her grandparents are Jim and Pat Frizzell and Phil and Claudia Hurst.

TVS Veterans Day Program

The Veterans Day Program at Twin Valley South High School Gymnasium, Friday, Nov. 10 at 9 a.m is open to the public. Come honor our Vets together!

Christmas in the Village Craft Bazaar

Same great event. New location and date! The annual Christmas in the Village Craft Bazaar will be held at the Twin Valley South Elementary on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. There will be door prizes, food, crafts, crafts and more crafts galore! Help support local crafters this holiday season by buying your holiday needs from them. If you are interested in being a vendor, spaces will be on a first come, first serve basis. We will allow only one of each company at the event (Tupperware, Avon, LuLaRoe, etc.) Contact Mayor Carol Lunsford at 839-4085 or Michele Laughlin on Facebook at West Alexandria Celebration Committee. Funds raised by the Celebration Committee will go to buy new toys and repairs for Santa Villa, and fireworks for July 4.

American Legion Post 322

Euchre every Wednesday at 6 p.m. $5 entry fee, 50/50 raffle and Ladies Night.

A Giving Thanks Carry-in Dinner will be held at the Legion with meat provided, on Monday, Nov. 20, at 6:30 p.m. Sign-up in the canteen, 1477 Ohio 503 S.

BINGO

The West Alexandria Fire Dept. BINGO is held every Thursday with doors opening at 5:30p.m. and BINGO beginning at 6:30p.m. Early Bird Games start at 6:30p.m. to help out those coming after work to have a little extra time. Kid-friendly atmosphere, but all players must be 18 or over, at 25 E. Dayton Street.

Turkey Shoot, TVRGC

Twin Valley Rod and Gun Club is sponsoring a Turkey Shoot at 1 p.m. each Sunday through the end of November. The public is welcome, and there is a lunch stand in the Clubhouse. Contact H.K. Steiner at 232-4504, Curtis Early at 533-3226 or Paul Price at 248-1083.

Church of the Brethren

West Alexandria Church of the Brethren Annual Turkey Supper will be held Saturday Nov. 11, from 4:30-7 p.m. Costs: adults $8, children $3.50 (3-10 years), and under age 2 eat free. Eat in or drive through at 22 E. Oak St.

Salem Lutheran Church

Veteran’s Service and Soup Lunch will be held Sunday, Nov. 12. WWII veteran Buzz Miller will be sharing his experiences after the worship service. You won’t want to miss this event, sponsored by the 200-Year Church Anniversary Committee.

Junior Lutherans, for children ages 3 in preschool through sixth grade, meet every Wednesday with a meal at 6 p.m. and program at 6:30 p.m.

Adult Bible study meets each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. during Jr. Lutherans.

Men’s Bible Study and Breakfast meets every third Saturday at 7:30 a.m., coming up next Nov. 18 in the Fellowship Hall.

Spaghetti Supper

Our Haiti Mission Team is holding a spaghetti supper at Salem Lutheran Church in the fellowship hall, Saturday, Nov. 18 from 4-7 p.m. to raise funds for their mission trip to Haiti in the spring.

We provide a meal for the Homeless Shelter in Eaton the fourth Monday of each month.
