Absentee ballots accepted

EATON — The Preble County Board of Elections is now accepting applications for absentee ballots for the Nov. 3, General Election.

Voters may request an absentee ballot by mail. The request must include your name, home address, the mailing address to which the ballot is to be mailed (if different than home address), date of birth, Ohio driver’s license number or the last four digits of the social security number, and signature. Applications may be printed from the board of elections website, www.electionsonthe.net/oh/preble.

Requests for absentee ballots must be in writing, the Board of Elections can not accept requests over the telephone. A request by fax is also not acceptable.

Mail the completed absentee ballot request to the Preble County Board of Elections, 101 E. Main Street, Eaton, OH 45320. Deadline for mail-in absentee ballot applications is noon, Saturday, Oct. 31.

All voted absentee ballots must be received at the board office by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day if delivered in person, or have a Nov. 2 postmark if mailed.

Individuals may vote at the board office Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. beginning Oct. 6-Oct. 23. There will be no absentee voting on Monday, October 12 due to the Columbus Day holiday. October 26 through October 30, voters may vote in the office from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. The board office will also be open additional hours on Saturday, Oct. 31 from 8 a.m. until noon and Sunday, Nov. 1 from 1-5 p.m. The last day to vote in the board office is Monday, Nov. 2, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
