Land Use Management to replace copier

EATON — The Preble County Commissioners recently approved a request for purchase from Land Use Management for a new copier. During the commission’s meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 7, Clerk Connie Crowell reported the office’s current copier is 10 years old and they are not receiving the sort of clarity they need.

The cost of the copier, $4,683.50, will be split between Land Use Management and GIS. Since clarity is the issue, the old copier will be moved to Building Maintenance, as that department does not currently have a copier.

However, Land Use Management did not budget for this replacement copier. According to Crowell, they are going to be sending in a few items which were not budgeted for.

Commissioners voted to transfer funds for the Land Use Management portion and to appropriate funds for the GIS portion. They also voted to authorize the expenditure for the new copier.

The commissioners also heard one bid for seven pre-stressed box beams for the Quaker Trace Road Project. That bid will be forwarded on to the engineer for review.

The commissioners noted receipt of:

•An amended certificate for FY17 CDBG Critical Infrastructure for New Paris ($300,000) and College Corner ($300,000). They also approved an amended certificate for Medicaid Local Sales Tax ($663,911.72).

•The Prevention, Retention, Contingency Transport Agreement with Miami Valley CAP Preble County in the amount of $5,000.

•The Child Placement Agreement with Communications Speaks, LLC in the amount of $25,000.

•The Solid Waste District Plan Update and 2017 ADR Agreement with GT Environmental, Inc. in the amount of $13,150.

The Preble County Commissioners meet every Monday and Wednesday at 9 a.m. in the Commission Chambers at the Preble County Courthouse.
