Lewisburg man arrested on sex charges

LEWISBURG — Deputies have arrested a 64-year-old Lewisburg resident after investigating allegations of sexual abuse involving a minor.

Deputies arrested Glenn P. Blackwell on Tuesday, Oct. 20, and at press time he was housed in the Preble County Jail on charges including:

•Rape — two counts, first-degree felonies

•Sexual battery, a third-degree felony

•Unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a third-degree felony

•Gross sexual imposition, a fourth-degree felony

According to Sheriff Mike Simpson, the Sheriff’s Office was contacted on Sept. 21, by the victim and a family member.

“Our investigation was conducted, which included interviewing the suspect. The victim is known by the suspect and the abuse occurred over several years,” Simpson said.

The investigation was forwarded to the Preble County Prosecutor’s Office and deputies obtained a warrant for the Blackwell’s arrest.

Blackwell has been arraigned in Eaton Municipal Court and his bond has been set at $75,000 cash or surety.
