Create-A-Pig contest to be held

EATON — The annual Create-A-Pig contest will be held at the Preble County Pork Festival on Saturday, Sept. 15, with judging beginning at 10 a.m.

Students and adults throughout Preble County are invited to create a pig for the Preble County Pork Festival. Pigs will be judged and prizes will be awarded. The purpose of the project is to promote local culture and events through creativity and imagination.

Categories are as follows: Most Unique, Prettiest, Carve-A-Pig, and Pig Photographs/Digital Computer Images.

For these categories, entries will be divided into five groups: Kindergarten through Second Grade, Third Grade & Fourth Grade, Fifth Grade & Sixth Grade, Seventh Grade & Eighth Grade, and High School & Adult.

The last category is Pig Pictures. For this group, entries will only have one age group: Kindergarten through Second Grade.

Prizes will be awarded to each class group, except Pig Pictures, with $15 for 1st prize; $10 for 2nd prize; $8 for 3rd prize; $5 for 4th prize.

Bring all entries to the educational exhibit area in Bruner Arena on the Preble County Fairgrounds from 4-6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14.

Pick up entries between 3-4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16. Items not picked up by 4 p.m. will be disposed of by the committee.
