Preble Visitors Bureau reports on changes

PREBLE COUNTY — There have been several changes to the roster of members of the Preble County Convention and Visitors Bureau’s board of directors.

PCCVB President Stephanie Garrett reported on these updates and more during a Preble County Commissioners’ meeting on Monday, Sept. 17.

Former CVB secretary Mike Zimmerman resigned due to accepting out-of-county employment. Eaton City Manager Brad Collins and Preble County Development Partnership Economic Development Director Brenda Latanza have now joined the board.

Garrett also reported:

CVB Board members were happy with the Pork Festival booth the group set up this year. The CVB had a spot right next to the Pork Festival Information Booth, and saw a lot of traffic, according to Garrett.

The CVB Board held its annual strategic planning retreat in August, and discussed new ideas and set goals. One big project the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau is working on is preparing boxes which will hold information at the different covered bridges in Preble County. Once the boxes are installed, visitors to the bridges will be able to learn more about both the bridges and the area.

The CVB will also be revamping its website and putting it in a new format. This project will take three to six months. One big change to the website will be the addition of more photos showcasing Preble County. The CVB will also be revamping its Facebook page and creating a Twitter account, according to Garrett.

Garrett added, the CVB Board is looking for information regarding any events happening in 2019. The information needs to be submitted by December, so it can be included in the 2019 Preble County Visitors Guide.
