Commissioners updated on landfill

EATON — Landfill Manager David Wilson and Assistant Manager Jeff Rogers attended the Preble County Commissioners’ meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 9, for the monthly landfill, recycling and sewer district meeting.

According to Rogers, there are no issues with Sewer District Two, no update on Sewer District Six, and while they had issues with ammonia in Sewer District Three, the problem has been corrected and additional samples have come back clean.

In other business, commissioners authorized three expenditures for the Sheriff’s Office regarding prisoner housing. The board authorized $10,000 for Butler County, $10,000 for Mercer County, and $5,000 for Wayne County.

Kerstin Williams was appointed to the Preble County Family & Children First Council.

Commissioners also:

•Approved two resolutions to authorize use of county credit card for the engineer.

•Authorized an expenditure for $5,900 for the Landfill for Flyover Photographer for Topographic mapping.

•Approved a resolution referencing establishment of a new fund for the Engineer for the Pyrmont Road Bridge Rehabilitation.

•Signed an agreement referencing three year professional consulting services agreement with Maximus Consulting Services, for $21,000.
