Creech named commission president

EATON — Rodney Creech is the new Preble County Commission president for the 2019 year.

The nomination was made by Chris Day during the commission meeting on Monday, Jan. 14. Commissioner Denise Robertson abstained from the vote and the motion passed 2-0-1.

Day was nominated vice president by Commissioner Robertson, a motion which passed unanimously.

In other business:

•The board noted receipt of and approved by signing a Housing Revolving Loan Agreement with Ohio Developmental Services Agency.

•The board noted receipt of an executed agreement referencing Maintenance Services Agreement with Appraisal Research Corp for $24,250.

•The board noted receipt of and approved by signing an amendment to the snow removal and salt application agreement with Performance Outdoors to extend services an additional year for Job and Family Services at a cost of $8,000.

•The board noted receipt of and considered approval of a building lease agreement with RJC Business Properties at a cost of $7,200.

•The board noted receipt of and considered approval by signing an amendment to the urine screens agreement with Darke County Recovery Services to extend services an additional year at a cost of $1,000 for Public Assistance and $7,000 for Children Services.

•The board of commissioners meet every Monday and Wednesday at 9 a.m. in the Commission Chambers at the Preble County Courthouse, unless noted otherwise.
