NP Council approves tiny home builders

NEW PARIS — Tiny homes will be coming to New Paris from six approved builders.

During a meeting on Monday, Feb. 4, New Paris Village Council approved five additional builders for Cedar Springs Tiny Village.

When the project was first approved, only Modern Tiny Living was permitted to work with owner Gerald Brubaker. However, during the January council meeting, Brubaker asked council to consider five additional builders.

He presented the following builders during the meeting on Monday, Feb. 4:

•Maverick Tiny Homes, a NOAH certified builder located in Tipp City.

•Blue Sky Tiny Homes, a NOAH certified builder located in Evansville, Indiana.

•Liberation Tiny Homes, a Pacific West certified builder located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

•Second Look Construction, a NOAH certified builder located in Mint Hill, North Carolina.

•Incredible Tiny Homes, a RVAH certified builder located in Newport, Tennessee.

According to Brubaker, there has been interest in having these five builders approved for Cedar Spring Village. For all five, Brubaker has either had owners or the companies themselves interested in moving into New Paris.

After looking at pamphlets and completed builds for all five companies, council approved a motion unanimously to allow them to build for Cedar Springs Village.

“In my opinion, we owe it to those people who live down there, not because it looks bad, because it definitely looks very good, but because they were concerned. We do owe it to them to look at these and do our best to make sure there is a quality tiny home across from them,” Mayor Kathy Smallwood said.
