LEWISBURG — Lewisburg Life held its first-ever Chocolate Walk on Friday, Feb. 15 and Saturday, Feb. 16.

Businesses throughout Brookville, Lewisburg, Verona, West Alexandria, and Arcanum all opened their doors and offered chocolates to promote shopping local.

Lewisburg Life is an organization consisting of downtown business owners in Lewisburg. The group hosts events throughout the year to invite residents to come downtown.

Lewisburg Life President Mandy Pahl said the Chocolate Walk was intended to give back to the community.

“We’ve seen some other areas do it, but most of them are selling tickets. We wanted to do something fun for our loyal supporters,” she said. “Events like this keep the community involved, keeps them coming back to see the fresh stuff and to see each other. It builds the sense of community back into our village.

“With Lewisburg Life, we want to keep the village thriving and to keep people involved and coming out to see all of us. It builds that sense of community that seems like is going away. Keep your eyes out for more events — our block parties will start in May.”
