EATON — Craig Moormeier resigned from Eaton City Council effective Monday, April 15.

Council noted his resignation and declared council seat vacancy during the meeting on that same day.

“We received a call earlier today. With his new responsibilities with his job, he deemed it necessary for fairness of council and the public to vacate his seat. We all know [Moormeier] was going to leave and not run for council again. He indicated he wouldn’t be able to make very many council meetings and thought it would be fair to everyone if we filled his seat,” Mayor Gary Wagner said.
