EATON — The Eaton Area Community Band will present a spring concert on Sunday, April 28, at 4 p.m. in the Eaton Performing Arts Center. Once again, the band will share the concert with the Ohio Valley British Brass Band.

The Brass Band, consisting of 45 brass and percussion players, is one of the finest ensembles in the Midwest. Their portion of the concert will feature two soloists, one on xylophone and one on soprano cornet, who’s virtuosity will amaze audience members.

The finale will be Music for a Festival, a showpiece for brass band. The Community Band will feature piano soloist Matt Shoemaker playing the theme from the movie Somewhere in Time and will also play a medley of music from the film scores of Danny Elfman. This includes Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejucie, and Spider-Man.

This is the sixth joint performance by these two groups. As is their custom at the conclusion of the concert, the Community Band will take the stage and the Brass Band will line both sides of the auditorium for two combined selections.
