NEW PARIS — National Trail Local School District held its annual Senior Citizen Luncheon on Thursday, April 18.

The luncheon was attended by 70 senior citizens, who were served by 20 FCCLA members and four Renaissance officers. The NT Advanced Steel Band provided entertainment.

According to National Trail Family and Consumer Sciences teacher Carmen Miller, this was the second year the district has held the Senior Citizen Luncheon, in an effort to show appreciation to local seniors.

The luncheon is sponsored by the district, hosted and served by the FCCLA organization, and entertainment supplied by the NT Advanced Steel Band. Renaissance Club officers assist by helping residents of Vancrest who attend the event.

“[The Senior Citizen Luncheon] has also helped to build connections in our community between our youth, our school, and our senior community members,” Miller said.

During the event, school administrators spoke and awarded door prizes to those in attendance. Retired Pastor Jeff Ginter provided blessings for the meal, which the school cafeteria prepared.
