PREBLE COUNTY — On Monday, May 20, at approximately 8:53 a.m., deputies responded to the 7000 block of Eaton-Gettysburg Road, on reports a Rumpke driver had located what he believed to be a dead body just off the roadway.

Deputies arrived and confirmed his finding, according to Sheriff Mike Simpson.

Deputies found a decomposing body near the roadway in a wooded area. Investigators processed the scene for approximately three hours. The body was removed to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office in Dayton, where an autopsy was conducted Monday afternoon, May 20.

On Tuesday, May 21, investigators identified the victim as Adolph A. Hunter, a 57-year-old male, last known to reside in Indianapolis, Indiana. Investigators traveled last week to Indianapolis, where they are working with Indianapolis PD, conducting further follow-up and attempting to locate family members.

This case is being investigated as a homicide and remains under investigation.
