Preble County financial statements released for November 2015

EATON — Preble County Auditor Lavon Wright presented Preble County Commissioners with the November 2015 monthly financial report during a meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 30.

Wright provided the following financial report for November:

General fund receipts totaled $683,703.52 which was 28.87 percent above the estimate for the month.

Sales tax revenue for November total $499,284.82 from September sales. Local Government Fund at $34,268.17, Charges for Services at $67,430.84, Interest at $11,962.90, Fines and Forfeitures at $3,669.59, and other receipts at $67,068.20.

The 1-mill conveyance receipts totaled $13,197 and there were not expenditures for the month.

General fund disbursements totaled $755,616.85 for the month, which was .43 percent below the estimate for the month.

Salaries, P.E.R.S. and Medicare Disbursements for November were $444,808.63. Health Insurance premiums were billed and paid in the amount of $73,141.75.

Transfers for the month included, $17,222.62 to Ohio Ag Soc., $1,722.54 to Engineer and $10,500 to Children Services. Department expenditures were $208, 221.31 and include supplies ($21,244.86), equipment ($4,186.79), charges for services ($163,327.52), and gasoline ($3,765.64).

The general fund began the year with a cash balance of $3,720,415.66 and ended the month of November with a balance of $4,192,228.54.

Wright also reported to commissioners the cash balance is expected to meet the estimated year-end balance.

In other business:

Commissioners approved the expenditure of $7,000 for a five year plan to replace the county’s archiver if the system were to crash. The new plan will replace the archiver immediately should it crash.

Commissioners authorized the expenditure of $10,800 for the emergency hauling and treatment of 96,000 gallons of leachate for the landfill. Commissioner Chris Day said due to the high volume of rain received the county’s landfill and all holding facilities were full. The leachate was transported to Middletown.

Commissioners also added $1,500 to the health department fund.

Preble County Commissioners meet every Monday and Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the Preble County Courthouse.
