NEW PARIS — New Paris Police are investigating an armed robbery which occurred last Friday at a local convenience story.
The Preble County Sheriff’s Office and the New Paris Police Department responded to a call related to an armed robbery early Friday morning, Jan. 15, at the J & M Mini Mart, located at 126 South Washington Street in New Paris.
At approximately 1:15 a.m. Friday, units responded after receiving a 9-1-1 call from the owner, who advised as he was leaving for the night, a white male suspect confronted him. The suspect forced the owner back into the store and demanded money, brandishing a firearm during the robbery, according to officials.
The suspect fled from the building. A K-9 from Eaton Police Division responded to the scene but was unable to locate the suspect. The suspect fled with an undetermined amount of cash.
