Christmas at Preble Arts offers opportunities for fun

EATON — A variety of holiday events for all ages are taking place at Preble Arts located at the new site, 207 E. Main St. in downtown Eaton, now through the end of the year.

Preble Arts is bringing on the holiday cheer. Join us for Arts Night Out on Nov. 22, 5-9 p.m. Holiday Workshops include Crafty Kids, Have a Painted Pottery Christmas, Festive Tree Plate, Santa’s Workshop, Painting with Santa, and Jingle, Mingle, Make!

You won’t want to miss Arts Night Out on Nov. 22, 5-9 p.m. Preble Arts welcomes the community to participate in an evening full of fun for you and your family to see, hear and do! Not only will there be free activities and artist demonstrations but also regional craft beer, scrumptious food from What the Taco and delicious desserts from Main Street Treats. The historic Star Theatre will be presenting a preview of Holiday Happenings a production.

Arts Night Out will be exhibiting the Winter Artist Market full of one of a kind pieces made by artists from all over the region that are available for purchase for those on your holiday shopping list or something for yourself.

Our Art Menu has a few additions, Clay Ornaments and Mini Holiday Paintings along with two of our favorites, Flow Painting and Metal Jewelry Stamping. Our Paint Your Own Pottery will be open for you and your family to enjoy. Preble Arts expresses its gratitude and thanks to LCNB National Bank for sponsoring Arts Night Out.

Buying something for yourself or those on your holiday shopping list has never been easier. Shop local at our Winter Artist Market Nov. 22-Dec. 21, where artists from all over the region will have one of a kind pieces of artwork for you or your loved ones to enjoy.

Artwork ranges from paintings, hand blown glass, ceramics, quilts, hand spun yarn, handbags, dolls, scarves, photography, scented soaps, ornaments, jewelry, cards, kitchenware and mosaic work. You will surely find a piece that calls out to be yours. Participating artists include Erin Abney, Daniel Bell, Robert Coveney, Kelsey Daugherty, Eric Deeter, Amy Dillon, Brooke Hartwig, Jessi June, Jane Marshall, Netta’s Naturals, Yetunde Rodrigues, Peggy Schuning, Neil Simek, Cindy Tipton, Dennis Walker and Laura Wogoman.

With the holidays right around the corner Preble Arts is offering Holiday Workshops for all ages:

Crafty Kids is a free festive craft event for your child to participate in while school is out. Drop in Nov. 26-27, to make a free festive craft anytime between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. to partake in the fun.

Have a Painted Pottery Christmas! Friday, Dec. 6, from 11-6 p.m. If you are not already in the Christmas spirit, we will get you there with some Christmas jingles you are welcome to sing along to while sipping hot chocolate as you paint in our PYOP studio. We will help you tap into your creative side with several technique options available. Make a holiday decoration, ornament or a gift. There will be no sitting fees all day long, you only pay the price of the bisque.

Santa’s Workshop Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. there will be a four-hour workshop for the kids. You can drop off your little one, perfect time for you to get some holiday shopping done, or participate in the fun yourself. Santa’s Preble Arts Elves will be helping the kids to create a Buddy the Elf cookie plate, a plush penguin and other festive art projects. Santa’s Workshop costs $20 for members and $30 for non-members.

Festive Tree Plate Workshop will be on Friday, Dec. 13, from 6-8 p.m. With Christmas around the corner you will need a festive plate to go along with your family’s holiday feast. Don’t worry — we have you covered! An instructor will walk you through how to create this festive tree plate to proudly display for all to enjoy. Workshop cost is $22 a person.

Painting with Santa — Santa is in the house — well the Preble Arts Center that is! Even though Santa is busy getting all the children’s Christmas lists in order and checking it twice, Santa himself will be our painting instructor for the day! Painting with Santa will be Saturday, Dec. 14, 10:30-11:30 a.m. or 12:30-1:30 p.m. Get your picture with Santa! Parents are welcome to register and paint with their children. Cost for the workshop is $12 for members and $15 for non-members.

Jingle, Mingle, Make! is an event you will want to mark your calendars for, especially if you are a last minute holiday shopper. Jingle, Mingle, Make! will be on Saturday, Dec. 21, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. With only four days before Christmas – it’s not too late to make your own gifts for those on your list. You will dye a silk scarf, make sugar scrub and create your own gift tags all while sipping mimosas and nibbling on quiche. Jingle, Mingle, Make! also serves as a fun girls day before Christmas is in full swing! Included in the event is a complimentary $5 gift card to use in our Winter Artist Market which has one artwork of all different mediums created by artists all over the region. Participants must be 21 or older. Cost of the workshop is $35 a person.

Preble Arts is operated by the Preble County Art Association which features a brand-new sales gallery representing regional artists, classes, a paint your own pottery studio and a new art menu full of make and take art projects. Additional programming for the community includes programs for seniors, youth, at-risk groups and differently-abled populations.
