GRATIS — Gratis will be hosting its first-ever Gratis Summer Fest on Friday-Sunday, July 17-19. The event will be hosted at the area known as “the point” which is just east of the Dollar General in Gratis.
The event will feature live music throughout most of the festival and will go from 5-11 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
The event will also feature three cars shows throughout the weekend, with a bike show on Friday, a car show on Saturday and a 4×4 off-road show on Sunday.
The festival is currently seeking vendors who can rent a 12×12 foot booth for $50 for the weekend, booths with electric or water will cost $65, booths with both electric and water will cost $75. Those interested in having a booth should contact the Gratis Village office.
The music will feature mostly local musicians and be broadcast live by the internet radio station rebel1058online. On Friday night, “Travis Williams and the Backwoods Band” will play starting at 7 p.m. Saturday will feature “The Faithful Few,” a band made up of local firemen. Sunday Kelly Crank will play.
The event will be free and open to the public.
