EATON — On Dec. 21, the Eaton Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) FFA Advanced Parliamentary Procedure team competed at the state level in Columbus.

The Parliamentary Procedure competition is a contest that requires a team of six FFA members to test their skills at setting up a meeting, demonstrating public speaking skills, and taking tests over parliamentary law.

Eaton’s team seeded third in the state on the online test, which is a prerequisite for the competition. In the state contest, Eaton ended with a fourth place win overall.

The team had been preparing for the contest for weeks with the help of Dr. Harold Niehaus as a coach.

Team members include Morgan Dare, Mallory Deaton, Kendale Hamilton, Tiara Miles, Mason Roell, Andy Turpin, Maddie Wright, and Rebecca Wright. Rebecca Wright resided as president on the team, Mallory Deaton the secretary, and the rest competed as members.

Individually, out of over hundreds of members, Maddie Wright placed first overall, Rebecca Wright third, Mallory Deaton eighth, Kendale Hamilton 13th, Tiara Miles 27th, and Morgan Dare 30th.
