CAMDEN — The Camden Fire Department held a controlled burn to offer training to several firefighers on Saturday, Jan. 30.
They were also joined by the departments from Gratis, West Elkton, Somerville and Gasper
The training took place at 11245 Hoel Road in Camden and the crew was out there from eight in the morning until the late afternoon.
“We have a lot of new guys, so (training on) fire suppression is big. Getting in there, show them the heat, and basically just put the fire out,” said Lt. Joshua Forrer from Camden-Somers Township Fire and EMS.
The crew also trained using tools and air management, according to Forrer.
The house had burnt down a few years prior and the family donated it to the department for training purposes.
