Engineer reports on recycling

EATON — Preble County Engineer Kyle Cross shared information on landfill, recycling, and sewer districts during the Preble County Commissioners’ meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 12.

Cross began by discussing projects Preble County Solid Waste Management District Assistant Director Beth Wright is currently working on.

Commission President Denise Robertson asked if there is a Facebook page for Trash Bash 2020, but Cross said there wasn’t. She suggested if this years event “falls flat” they make changes moving forward.

Cross said, “One way or another we will figure out a way to get it off the ground.”

He briefly discussed the previously held Sewer District Six (SD6) kickoff meeting with CDM Smith.

In other business, commissioners:

•Authorized payment to CSEA ($5,005.39) and Children Services ($112,258.92, $24,800).

•Authorized an expenditure in the amount of $19,963.20 for the purchase of SA Pave Prep and Geotac for various bridge decks and roads.

•Authorized an expenditure in the amount of $23,747.67 for the purchase and installation of an engine for the roll off truck for Preble County Landfill.

•Noted receipt of and signed the hearing test agreement with Industrial Health Test for the Preble County Engineer ($850) and Preble County Landfill ($409).

•Noted receipt of and signed the 2020 Aggregate Agreement with Morrow Gravel Co. DPA walls materials ($10,000) for the Preble County Engineer.

•Noted receipt of and signed the FY20 Yard Waste Recycling Agreement with Miami Valley Outdoor Products ($8,000) Recycling.

The Preble County Commissioners meet every Monday and Wednesday at 9 a.m. in the Preble County Courthouse, unless noted otherwise.
