Sheriff issues jail report

PREBLE COUNTY — According to Preble County Sheriff Mike Simpson, during the month of January, the PCSO booked 35 females in the jail, which is the same number booked in December.

This number was a decrease from January 2019, when the PCSO booked 36 females.

According to a 2018-19 year-to-date comparison: for the same period in 2019, the PCSO booked 36 females. In 2020, the PCSO booked 35 females, a 2.8 percent decrease.

The following is information for female inmates housed in Preble County in the month of January:

•Lowest population occurred on Jan. 28, with six female inmates.

•Highest population occurred on Jan. 1, with 13 female inmates.

In January, there were two female inmates housed in Wayne County.

Average female population housed at the Preble County Jail in the month of January was 9.67, which is at the jail’s capacity of 10 inmates.
