Bingo

Come join us Thursday, March 12, from 5-9 p.m. for a fun night of bingo, instant tickets and fun! The West Alexandria Fire Department has graciously allowed us to take part in their weekly Bingo Night. Part of the proceeds will go towards the TVS Junior Class After Prom. The After Prom committee plans and holds the After Prom festivities for our TVS HS students. The goal is to ensure a safe, fun evening for our students after attending prom. Come have fun while helping out our TVS students! Instant tickets will be sold to take a chance at some big winnings! Concession stand available. Doors open at 5 p.m. at 25 E. Dayton Street.

TVS Baseball Spaghetti Dinner

The Twin Valley South High School Baseball team is having a fundraiser at St. John Church, 20 E. South Street, on March 15, from 4 -5:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12 years of age. Tickets are available from any of the players, parents or coaches John or Cory Bassler.

Smoked Chicken or BBQ Pork Chop Dinners

The West Alexandria Celebration Committee is selling smoked chicken or BBQ pork chop dinners on Sunday, March 15, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at at the Firehouse, 25 E. Dayton Street. All funds raised will be used to help pay for toys purchased for Santa Villa and the July 4, fireworks. Food prepared by Hog Wild Smokehouse Ribs. Half a Smoked Chicken with dinner roll, applesauce and choice of green beans or baked beans is $7. A 3/4lb. Smoked Pork Chop with dinner roll, applesauce and choice of green beans or baked beans is $8. Orders may be called into Carol Lunsford at 839-4085 including your name and phone number.

Quarter auction

The TVS Junior Class will be holding a Quarter Auction to help raise money for this year’s After Prom festivities on Friday, March 20 from 6-9 p.m.

All money raised will go to ensure the students have a great, fun-filled evening! We will be holding the event in the TVS Commons. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Bidding will begin at 7 p.m. There will be lots of great vendors, prizes and food! So grab your friends, come for a fun-filled evening and help support the TVS students!!

Hello Spring Coffee & Canvas

Artist Heidi Flory from She Shed Arts will be leading a Hello Spring Coffee & Canvas at Kierston’s Coffeestop on Tuesday, March 31 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at 12 S. Main Street. This is a large 16×20 painting. You will be provided with your canvas, paint and all tools needed to take home a finished painting. Included in the price of your ticket is a drink of choice from Kierston’s Coffeestop. This is a pre-paid, non-refundable event. Buy your ticket now to reserve your seat. AKS Euchre Tournament and Dance

Alpha Kappa Sorority is holding their annual Euchre tournament and Dance Saturday, April 13, at 5 p.m. at the American Legion Post 322. The Euchre tournament spots have all been filled, but the Dance is is open to the public and will start around 8p.m. There will be a DJ again this year. As always we will have lots of raffle items, a silent auction and 50/50 raffle. A shot bar will be available again as well, at 1477 Ohio 503 S.

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny will be held Saturday, April 4 in the Twin Valley South High School Commons. Breakfast is 9-11 a.m. Tickets must be with you in order to be served. Reserve tickets are available from Carol Lunsford at the Pin-Up Shoppe, 50 W. Second Street, or any member of the West Alexandria Celebration Committee. Tickets can also be purchase first-come first-served at the door. Small biscuit and gravy, sausage patty, milk or juice is $4, or a large serving is $5. One doughnut, sausage patty, milk or juice is $4, or a two-doughnut serving is $5.

Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt

The Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, April 4, at 1 p.m. on the west side practice fields behind the Twin Valley South facilities at 100 Education Drive. There will be prizes for each age category. Bring your own basket or bag to collect the hidden eggs in.

Firehouse Bingo

Bingo start time is 6 p.m. every Thursday for the Early Bird games at 25 E. Dayton Street. We have several progressive games we play throughout the season. Come out and try your luck. Doors open at 5 p.m. for open seating. No RSVP on seating; first come, first served. Help spread the word; the higher the number of attendees, the higher the pay-out bracket. Light snack bar with drinks available for purchase.

Turkey Shoot, TVRGC

Twin Valley Rod and Gun Club is sponsoring a Turkey Shoot at 1p.m. each Sunday starting March 15. The public is welcome, and there is a lunch stand in the Clubhouse. Contact H.K. Steiner at 232-4504, Curtis Early at 533-3226 or Paul Price at 248-1083.

S&S P&P 4-H Club

Spic’n Span Pots’n Pans 4-H Club, established in 1970, meets every Monday at 4 p.m. in the Salem Lutheran Fellowship Hall, 70 E. Dayton Street, and welcomes any new members. 4-H members must be at least 8 years old or in the third grade to compete in the Junior Fair. All fair project registrations must be turned in by the end of March. Meetings consist of 4-H business, working on fair projects, snacks and games. We cover domestic, animal, and miscellaneous projects. We complete several community projects throughout the year. Community Christian Church

Community Christian Church is starting its Small Group Ministries for 2020. The public is invited to attend. If interested, call the church office at 937-849-4988, at 11 Dorsey Akers Road.

Church of the Brethren

The next Community Meal is Wednesday, April 1, at 22 East Oak St. from 5-6:30 p.m.Community Meals will continue the first Wednesday of each month through June.

Salem Lutheran Church

Salem Kids meet every Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. through April first, for a meal and program, ending at 6:45 p.m. during the Lenten season. Kids age 3 years through sixth grade are welcome to be a part of Salem Kids. For more information, contact Wanda DeVilbiss at 937-361-6865.

Middle School Ministry meets every Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m.

Join us for the Men’s Bible Study and Breakfast every third Saturday at 7:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. The men are planning to attend a Mission Conference March 21-22 in Mansfield.

Lenten Meals and evening services continue every Wednesday through April first. Lenten Meals are from 5-6:45p.m. and Lenten Services begin at 7 p.m.

Blood Pressure Screenings will be held after Worship every fourth Sunday, next on March 22.

Our Bibles and Blankets ministry is ongoing. We are collecting new or gently used Bibles.

Donate your unwanted or recently expired coupons to Coups for Troops to assist military overseas where commissaries accept manufacturer coupons up to two months expired. There is a basket in the Church Library.
