Oxford Natural Areas Wildflower Walks planned

OXFORD — Spring has finally arrived! In Oxford, that means that birds are starting to sing, trees are regaining their leaves, and flowers are beginning to bloom. Beginning on March 27, there will be a weekly guided walk through the beautiful Silvoor Biological Sanctuary to observe and learn about the wildflowers and wildlife there.

The walks will be held each Sunday at 1 p.m. until May 8. These guided tours are available to people of all ages, but it should be noted that parts of the trail could be steep or have exposed roots. Participants should wear appropriate sturdy shoes for hiking. At 1 p.m., guides will meet their groups under the Peffer Park Pavilion before departing.

Wildflower walks are scheduled for Sundays April 3, 10, 17 and 24 and May 1 and 8 (Mother’s Day.)
