EATON – The Preble County Board of Commissioners closed on the sale of the land at 601 Hillcrest Drive, signing the deed over to the Preble County Art Association during their meeting on Monday, April 19.

After several years of debate and discussions, the current board of commissioners accepted a bid of $65,000 from the Preble County Art Association on March 22 for the 2.145 acres of land upon which the association’s former art center building sits.

The PCAA had offered past commissioners the opportunity to purchase the building from the organization but was willing to buy the land so it could be used for additional art purposes or be sold to another entity so the proceeds could be used to enhance the new Preble Arts operation on Main Street.
