0

The following candidates are running in the upcoming Nov. 2 general election for Harrison Township Trustee (two openings), with terms commencing Jan. 1, 2022.

Rodger B. Clark

Occupation: Retired teacher/Director of Technology at Eaton Community Schools. Sales Associate for Lowes.

Past Political Positions Held: Washington Township Trustee.

Education: I graduated from Eaton High School and earned a bachelor of science degree from Findlay University and went on to receive a master’s degree from Miami University.

Community Involvement: I have served as a board member of the Preble County Youth Foundation, board member of Mound Hill Cemetery and secretary of Preble County Township Association.

Why are you the most qualified candidate for this position?

During my tenure as a township trustee, I have gained valuable insight into the needs of Washington Township residents, as well as a working knowledge of the way the residents want their local government run. I am qualified to hold the position of Washington Township Trustee because I am a lifetime resident of the township and I am experienced in working with the Preble County Prosecutor’s Office, city officials, sheriff’s department and Preble County Engineers Office.

What are the most crucial issues facing the office you are seeking, and how would you address it?

I believe the single most import issue facing Washington Township is our financial budget. When a decision needs to be made regarding fire protection, emergency squad services or road maintenance, it is essential to consider how best to allocate the available funds to ensure the taxpayers are getting the most out of their tax dollars.

If elected or re-elected, what would be your chief priorities?

If I am re-elected, my chief priorities would be to ensure that Washington Township continues to ensure that the taxpayers are getting the most out of their tax dollars. I would also maintain the quality of our fire protection/EMS services, roads, and cemeteries.

Any Additional Comments?

I wish to continue serving the residents of Washington Township by providing informed, competent decision making at the local level of government. I would like the opportunity to help guide Washington Township’s growth in a positive direction. Please vote for Rodger B. Clark, Washington Township Trustee, on Nov. 2.
