EATON — Retiring Eaton Municipal Court Judge Paul Henry was honored last week with a special celebration recognizing his nearly three decades of service on the bench.

A luncheon in Henry’s honor was held at the EMC facility on Friday, Dec. 17. During the event, Eaton Mayor Joe Renner presented a resolution previously passed by Eaton City Council.

The resolution noted, “Whereas Judge Paul D. Henry has honored the City of Eaton, Preble County, with his 29 years of service on the bench of the Eaton Municipal Court, serving the citizens of Preble County as a fair and caring jurist, and, whereas his years of private practice of the law and his public service as an assistant Preble County Prosecutor forged a legal scholar who was appreciated by many people with whom he came into contact; and whereas throughout his professional career, Judge Henry always remained humble and respectful of others which in turn garnered the respect of all the people who knew and worked alongside him. His even temperament and friendly disposition secured for him the position of being the most approachable elected official in the memory of even the oldest Preble County residents.”

Renner continued, ” Now, therefore, I Joe Renner, mayor of the City of Eaton, along with council, urge all employees and citizens to join us in congratulating and extending our heartfelt thanks for a job superbly well performed, and wishing him many continued years of good health, relaxation and happiness.”

During Friday’s festivities, Henry was also recognized by the Ohio Division of Wildlife.
