MASON — Eaton’s girls basketball team defeated No. 1 seed Cincinnati Summit Country Day 43-35 in a Division II district final on Friday, Feb. 26, at Mason Middle School, to win the program’s first-ever district championship and advance to the regional. Eaton (13-13), winners of five straight games and six of the last seven, was scheduled to play Hamilton Badin in the regional semifinal (Sweet 16) on Tuesday, March 1, at Springfield High School. The winner will meet either Kettering Archbishop Alter (24-1) or Columbus Granville (24-1) in the regional final on Friday, March 4, at 7 p.m. Team members include: Juli Couch, Anna Kramer, Kyla Mize, Karma Mohamed, Allison Mowen, Olivia Bauamann, Kendall Miller, Lily Shepherd, Gracie Copper, Addison Satterfield, Addison Campbell, Emily Haynes, Caroline Miller, Olivia Orr, Kurstyn Pitsinger and Charlee Ruebush. The team is coached by Dave Honhart, Doug Mize, Taffy Ruebush and Tim Appledorn.
