EATON — On Monday, April 18, Eaton Mayor Joe Renner presented a proclamation to Dr. James A. Brenn DMDC, who retired earlier this month after many decades of serving area residents.

According to the proclamation, Dr. Brenn has “over 63 years of diverse experience in chiropractic care, helping his many patients suffering from chronic pain and improving the wellbeing of many area residents.”

Brenn graduated with honors from Central States College of Physiatrics and Chiropractic in 1959 and owns Spitler Memorial Chiropractic Office, located at 399 E. St. Clair St, a practice started in 1915 by Dr. H. Riley Spitler.

Brenn took over the practice on Nov. 5, 1962, and remodeled the East St. Clair Street building in 1975. “He served as President of the Eaton Area Chamber of Commerce in 1966 and in the years since has continued serving patients at the Eaton-based practice,” the proclamation noted.

Brenn officially retired from practice effective April 2022.

Renner presented the proclamation to Brenn prior to Eaton City Council’s April meeting. “Now therefore, I, Joe Renner, Mayor of the City of Eaton, on this day, do hereby encourage all citizens to join me in congratulating Dr. Brenn on an admirable chiropractic career and decades of serving Eaton-area residents, and wishing him good health, relaxation, and happiness in retirement.”
