DEI Spring Craft Show a success

EATON — Sunny summer-like weather made its first big appearance Saturday, April 23, just in time for Downtown Eaton Inc.’s first major event of the year, the Spring Craft Show.

“What a beautiful day to kick off the season with our Spring Craft Show,” DEI officials said in a recent Facebook post. “Thanks to everyone who participated, sponsored, and attended. We’re so appreciative of the community and glad for a successful first event of 2022!”

During a committee meeting on Monday, April 25, DEI Promotions Committee Chair Megan Lutz called the event “phenomenal.” Despite approximately 20 “no-shows,” over 60 registered vendors showed up to participate. DEI received lots of positive feedback from vendors and attendees alike.

“We had a really diverse group of vendors,” DEI Organization Committee Chair Megan Griffis said, “Many were from outside Eaton.”

Looking for more downtown Eaton fun?

On Saturday, June 18, DEI will host a brand-new free event, its first “Community Fun Fest,” when from 3-7 p.m. downtown Eaton will come alive with a carnival/street fair atmosphere to delight all ages. There will be midway games, special performers from the Cincinnati Circus company, vendors and food trucks, a children’s inflatable ride area and more.

Business Sponsorships and vendor spots are still available for this event, as well as volunteer opportunities, according to organizers. Sign up or contact DEI at www.downtowneatoninc.org

The free Community Fun Fest is made possible with the support of the Preble County Convention & Visitors Bureau and Lawn Plus LLC, as well as other DEI sponsors including Slabdocs Inc., Preble County Council on Aging, Charles Family Hearth, Hot Tub & Safe; Necco Foster Care and Counseling, SVG Motors, and TimkenSteel.
