Auditor releases financial report for April

EATON — During a Preble County Commission meeting last week, Preble County Auditor Lavon Wright presented her monthly financial report for April.

According to Wright, during the month of April, Preble County’s General Fund receipts totaled $1,204,089.80. Sales tax revenue for April totaled $573,118.50 from February 2022 sales. Local Taxation came in at $251,452.68, Charges for Services at $127,192.62, Interest at $32,971.38 and Fines & Forfeitures at $6,112.67. The Casino Tax came in at $146,778.28.

The 1-mill conveyance receipts totaled $19,182.50 and there were no expenditures for the month, the report noted.

Expenditures

According to Wright, April General Fund disbursements totaled $1,354,076.38.

Salaries, P.E.R.S. and Medicare disbursements for April were $800,940.34. (This included three payrolls, she noted.)

Transfers for the month included Soil & Water: $74,000 and Job and Family Services in the amount of $18,561.24.

Total expenditures included those for supplies ($28,096.35,) health insurance ($102,948.90,) contract services ($270,182.49,) utilities ($11,018.33) and training/travel, advertising/printing and other expenses ($18,444.01.)

Year-to-date

According to the report, the county’s General Fund began 2022 with a cash balance of $8,943,589.65 and ended the month of April with $10,071,831.14.

General Fund receipts for April 2022 were up by $162,353.53, according to Wright. Sales tax was up by $8,554.53, charges for services were up by $10,542.37 and interest was up by $5,190.64.

Expenditures for April 2022 exceeded those in 2021 by $129,410.39, the report noted.

Supplies were up by $2,973.46, and contracted services were up $83,124.08. Other expenses, she added, were down by $25,500.70 and equipment expenditures were down by $10,527.72.
