EACB to play June 21

The Eaton Area Community Band will present a summer concert on Tuesday evening, June 21, at 7:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center, located at the Eaton Middle/High School campus on Hillcrest Drive. The 35-member group is directed by Tad Stewart, former director of bands at Eaton Community Schools, and is made up of local adult musicians and advanced students from four area high schools. The program will include light popular music, like “Arkansas Traveler” and “Tennessee Salute,” a tribute to George Gershwin, and themes from popular movies. Admission is free, but donations are welcomed. The public is also invited to hear the band perform at the Preble County Historical Society, at 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, as part of the PCHS July 4 weekend celebration.

BOE testing

The Preble County Board of Elections will conduct the August 2022 Primary Election Logic & Accuracy Testing on the ExpressVote Marking Devices, the DS-200 Digital Precinct Scanners and the DS-450 Central Scanner on Wednesday, June 22 and Thursday, June 23. The testing will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Preble County Courthouse. The public test will be conducted on Thursday, June 23, after the conclusion of the digital scanners testing. Logic & Accuracy Testing of the electronic pollbooks will be conducted on Thursday, July 14 and Friday, July 15. This testing will also be conducted from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Preble County Courthouse.

ESC meeting date change

The June regular monthly meeting of the Preble County Educational Service Center Governing Board scheduled for Wednesday, June 29, at 5:30 p.m. has been changed to Monday, June 27, at 3:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Preble County Educational Service Center Conference Room, 597 Hillcrest Drive, Eaton. The purpose of the meeting will be for all regular general purposes.

National Trail summer hours announced

National Trail Local School’s offices will be operating on the following summer schedule: District Office hours of operation will be 7 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday through Friday through July 29. The ES and MS Office will be closed from until July 29. National Trail High School hours of operation will be 8 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday through Friday through July 29. Regular hours of operation will resume on Monday, Aug. 1, from 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. for all district buildings. For more information call the district office at 937-437-3333, extension 106.

TCN summer hours announced

Tri-County North Local Schools will be operating on an extended day/shortened week work schedule this summer. Through July 29, the hours of operation will be 6 a.m. to 4 p.m, Monday through Thursday, with the exception to the week of July 4. The week of July 4, TCN will be will be closed on Monday due to the holiday. For the remainder of that week, the hours of operation will be 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. The building will be closed every Friday. Regular hours of operation will resume on Monday, Aug. 1. For more information, call the District Office at 937-962-2671.
